Website Terms

Effective Date: August 3, 2026

These Website Terms govern your use of precedentassessmentgroup.com, operated under the working name Precedent Assessment Group. By accessing this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue your use of the website.

1. Informational Purpose

The content on this website provides general information about public safety consulting and promotional examination services. Website content does not constitute legal advice, employment advice, psychometric advice, or a guarantee regarding any examination, promotional process, candidate outcome, or employment decision.

2. No Client Relationship

Visiting this website, downloading material, sending an email, or submitting an inquiry does not create a consultant-client, contractual, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.

A professional engagement is created only through a written agreement signed by the authorized parties.

3. Proposals and Service Descriptions

Descriptions of services, schedules, processes, pricing, and deliverables are general and may change based on an agency's requirements.

The final scope, price, schedule, responsibilities, security controls, professional participation, administration procedures, scoring process, challenge procedures, and deliverables will be established in a written proposal or client agreement.

Nothing displayed on this website constitutes a binding offer or government procurement commitment.

4. Examination Claims

No examination is represented as validated, legally defensible, bias-free, litigation-proof, or psychometrically sound unless appropriately qualified professionals complete and document the necessary work for that specific engagement.

References to source control, professional review, subject matter expert participation, scoring, security, reporting, and challenge support describe available services. The written client agreement controls what is included in a particular project.

5. Confidential Information

This public website and its forms must not be used to transmit:

  • Examination questions or answer keys
  • Confidential agency policies
  • Criminal justice information
  • Personnel or disciplinary information
  • Candidate records
  • Protected personal information
  • Security-sensitive documents
  • Other restricted agency material

Submission of information through the website does not create a confidential or privileged relationship. Secure transfer procedures will be established before restricted client materials are accepted.

6. Agency Responsibility

The contracting agency retains responsibility for its employment decisions, eligibility requirements, promotional rules, collective bargaining obligations, civil service requirements, accommodations, public records responsibilities, and final use of examination results.

Unless expressly stated in a signed agreement, Precedent Assessment Group does not make hiring or promotional decisions on behalf of an agency.

7. Candidate Coaching and Conflicts

Agency examination development and candidate coaching, if offered, are operationally separated.

Coaching will not be provided to a candidate participating in a promotional process that Precedent Assessment Group develops, administers, scores, reviews, or supports. Agency information, examination content, source materials, and answer keys will not be used for candidate coaching.

Conflict screening may be required before coaching or consulting services are accepted.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, website text, graphics, branding, downloadable materials, and original content are owned by or licensed for use by Precedent Assessment Group.

Visitors may download or print publicly available material for internal informational and procurement review. Materials may not be copied, republished, sold, altered, or used to create competing products without written permission.

Agency-owned materials and project deliverables will be governed by the applicable client agreement.

9. Third Party Services and Links

The website may use or link to third party services, including hosting, form processing, fonts, analytics, and external websites. Precedent Assessment Group does not control third party websites or their availability, security, content, or privacy practices.

A link does not constitute an endorsement unless expressly stated.

10. Website Availability and Accuracy

Reasonable efforts are made to keep the website accurate and available. However, the website may contain errors, experience interruptions, or require updates.

No guarantee is made that the website will always be available, complete, current, secure, or free from technical problems.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Precedent Assessment Group will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from reliance on public website content or inability to access the website.

This limitation does not modify obligations contained in a signed client agreement and does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Privacy

Information submitted through the website is handled as described in the Privacy Notice. Visitors should review that notice before submitting personal information.

13. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be revised as services, technology, legal requirements, or business operations change. The effective date displayed above will identify the latest revision.

Continued use of the website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict of law principles.
